Behold your son

Behold your son

Title:  Behold your son

Poet: Steve Anc

Mission: an experiment into poetic language

Style: quatrain

Mood and tune: elegy

I was not aware that I could
I would have told you to bide
But man does not know tomorrow
I would have predicted that  then

What a predicament to be in
That man cannot see his future
I would have told you horrendous tale
How the dark unlighted  gave way
And  the bubblehead became bright

I thought you could have waited
I would have chant how it all began
How fate gifted me with words
As  her lips kissed my forehead

I thought you would have waited
I would have shown you the abrupt
How I was graced by God that knows
When the passing bell doth-rang

I wish you would have waited
I would have chronicled how it start'd
How  the tappers burn blue
When the comforters are few

But who am I to quest for the quietus
Cuase no one queries the incubus
I am just Steve Anc (Chimezie)
Yet in despond and pain I sat
With the quest to  still query

I was not aware that I could
When I lie in my bed as a lad
Sick in head and weak at heart
 And with doubt of self-esteem
I would have told you to wait

Dedicated to late  Mr Ajuzie Nwaorisara
